Incremental load with indexes or without indexes

Hi All

I have been working on BI Apps 7.9.5.1 quite for some time and now that we have completed Initial load we are looking ahead for Incremental load .I have found that DAC uses Refresh Dates for picking incremental load once initial load is successfully completed.The problem I am facing is though DAC picks up Incremental load well, as the fact tables are really big ones around 6 millions each...the incremental load is taking long time to scan such big tables to verfiy a record is new or existing one.... The difference is huge.Initial load for this fact is taking around 7 mins(in bulk mode) where as incremental load which should be in normal mode is taking 4 hours to complete...Kindly suggest me on this and correct me if I am wrong
