increasing the number of processes

793965Mar 14 2012 — edited Mar 14 2012
hi gems..a very good evening to all of you...

Our system is in upgrade process and we are testing our application by increasing the load..

The parameter processes is set to 300 in our database(11gr2)

Now due to the huge load when i am querying the count of v$process it is often touching 298 or 296

thats why when new users are trying to connect to the database, then they are getting the error

Oracle not available
Shared memory Realm doesnot exist

So, i think i have to increase the processes...am i correct???

Another question:
If i increase the number of processes then should i increase the memory distribution???
currently the SGA is 8.5 GB and Automatic Memory Management is activated.

please help..thanks in advance...
