Increase SQL or PL/SQL command- line size to 4000 chars

Hi,

I have a update query statement with set variable size more than 3000 chars. When I ran this query using sqlplus it is giving the following error.

SP2-0341: line overflow during variable substitution <> 3000 characters at line 2

But when I ran the same statement in sql developer the results are successful.

I was able to figure out the reason behind the sqlplus is limit for SQL or PL/SQL command- line size after variable substitution is 3000 chars from https://docs.oracle.com/en/database/oracle/oracle-database/18/sqpug/SQL-Plus-limits.html#GUID-93CA1BD6-888F-40FD-B57F-0B… .

Is there a way I can modify the size to 4000 chars (This is my table column size)?. I am using Oracle  11.2.0.3.0.

Thanks,

Rakesh
