Increase SGA size

Hi,
I want to increase my SGA size from 1 GB to 4 GB. Need a proper document which i can follow to resolve my issue. Also need help what other parameters are required to change. What pre-requisite and post-requisite processes are required to resolve this issue.?
This routine will be done first on TEST and then on DEVELOPMENT Server.Help in detail will be appreciated.
RDBMS : 11.1.0.7.0
Oracle Applications : 12.1.1
and OS is Linux-32bits
Please keep in mind that i am new in professional life and NEWBIE on this forum.
