Oracle Database Discussions

Hi,

I am cloning from the hot backup.
After creating control file,


sql>recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;


Specify log: {<RET>=suggested | filename | AUTO | CANCEL}
CANCEL
ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error below
ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent
ORA-01110: data file 1: '/oracle/dev/oradev/oradata/system01.dbf'


ORA-01112: media recovery not started



Even after giving CANCEL it gives the above error. I took new archives and fed to this clone, But it still goes on and on..........and when i say cancel it says ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent


I have taken archives from the SOURCE by Giving
sql> alter system archive log current;

There are no more archives after this............
If i give cancel it says ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent


What is the problem ?
