Include Review Date functionality to the Contract Values matrix for each entry in C2M/CCS/CC&B

Abhisek Sahoo-OracleDec 11 2024 — edited Jan 23 2025

Some utilities have a requirement to be able to review the Contract Values before their expiry. They have a functionality where individual Contract Values have a Review Date field for each Contract Value which is prior to their corresponding End Dates. Based on the the supplied Review Date, a notification gets triggered to the user for necessary action as part of the business process.

In C2M, the Contract Values grid on the SA → Rate Info tab have the Start Date, End Date, Bill Factor and the Contract Value fields. The request is to have a new field for Review Date which if supplied creates a To Do for the users for their review and appropriate action.

Also, it might be a good option if the same functionality can extended to the Contract Riders grid as well.

The Consumer Contracts functionality was looked through for this requirement but it adds complexity due to the following reasons -

The Contracts and Products functionality would require a Consumer Contract to be created and a Consumer Contract Product for each rate that will expire. The Consumer Contract Milestone actions are limited to:

  • Expire the Consumer Contract Product
  • Send a notification to the customer
  • Change the Product to the fallback product defined for the Customer Contract Product currently used

Adding this complexity wouldn’t make sense unless the functionality is changed to:

  • Expire SA’s on the Milestone date
  • Reference the SA instead of the Mandatory Consumer Contract Product
