Currently, the Unified Search returns a limited subset of results, capped at a maximum of 20 entries. This restriction significantly impacts the user experience, particularly when searching for customers by name. For example, if multiple customers have similar names - such as Southern Estate, South Fields Ltd, or _South Eastern Builds_—only the first 20 matches are displayed, potentially omitting relevant records.
Given that Unified Search is prominently featured on the CCS homepage and is frequently used as the primary method of locating customers, this limitation may lead users to believe that a customer does not exist in the system. This often necessitates a secondary search through Control Central, which can be time-consuming and counterintuitive.
Enhancing the Unified Search to provide a more comprehensive and consistent result set similar to Control Central Search would greatly improve usability and reduce confusion for end users.
