In JTabbedPane tabs are not getting enabled on mouse click

I have an application in which i have a JSplitPane which has a JTabbedPane , so when i try to navigate between the tabs it is not working.

when i tried to use updateUI method in mouseclicked method it works butcalling thins will cause some other problems in my application.

**** THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY IN J2SE 1.5 *****

if some one has solution for this problem please reply back....
