Improve the performance of DELETE in standard edition

DB version: 11.2.0.4

OS : RHEL 6.4

In my shop , we use 11.2.0.4 standard edition . We frequently run purge jobs (DELETEs). This is a weekly activity where we DELETE millions of records from around 20 tables.We want to speed up these deletes.

Parallelism is not available with Standard edition. Are there any other ways to increase the performance of these DELETEs when parallelism is not an option ?
