Implied share and Data wipe out in Essbase

NJMar 7 2016 — edited Mar 8 2016

Hi,

There was an issue in our production environment post the upgrade from 11.1.2.2 to 11.1.2.4 where on re deployment of the application for few of the planning applications the data was getting lost.

The back ups also were generating corrupt data.

On reaching out to oracle for the issue they came back with the solution where they identified that post the upgrade the cfg file was missing the IMPLIED_SHARE FALSE setting and laid out steps for the correction.

Though we have followed the steps and the systems seems to be behaving as expected we have reached out to them to understand as to how this setting was affecting the data to be wiped out from the cubes.

Till we are awaiting a response from them i thought to put it on the forum as the responses are more quick and diverse.

So it would be greatly appreciate if you can help understand the relation with IMPLIED_SHARE FALSE setting missing in cfg file and loss of data in the cube as a result of it.

Thanks!!!
