Implementing Hyperion VS. GL Analytics

We are using Hyperion as our primary financial reporting tool and the hierarchy structure will be maintained in Hyperion rather than GL where only the lowest level will be established. Because of this, we are contemplating the benefit of performing dual maintainanence between Hyperion and GL in the BI Apps and DBI configuration and we are considering not implementing GL/Profitability for DBI and BI Apps until April. Here is my two questions:
1) Is there some basic GL configuration we are going to need for subledger reconciliation (to determine which fact table to make entries to..or once we turn of GL, we will not be performing subledger reconciliation. However, there is a few dashboards where I thought I saw the ap or ar transaction fact table along with one generated by the GL process.
2) If we decide to not implement GL now....how difficult will it be to implement in the future when we roll out more business units and have more transactions?
