Implementation of FHIR R4 Patient.$match API

David MurphyApr 24 2025

In the FHIR R4 standard, there is an API Patient.$match that allows a caller to search for a single high-quality match. When I look at the Cerner FHIR R4 documentation, all I see is a “Get patient” method where you can pass an ID value. The differences between the Cerner FHIR R4 API and the FHIR R4 API are so different, than it makes me think I've completely misunderstood how Cerner has implemented FHIR.

Are the APIs available in the Cerner documentation additional APIs on top of the FHIR standard? Or does Cerner not implement the standard FHIR API at all?

Thanks for your help with what probably seems like a very basic question.
