Impact of Unlimited idle_time for an oracle session

Dear All,

what is the Impact of Unlimited idle_time for an oracle session, how will it affect my database performance?

my default profile idle_time = default, and idle_time limit = unlimited.

we have more than 1200 users, we are creating users in database as a application user, most of the users having unlimited idle_time

please advise me.
