Images in Checkbox Item possible?

Hi All,

Is there a way to include images instead of text as checkbox display value? I've tried all I know and look elsewhere but have been unable to see how.

If anybody knows how can this be accomplished out of the box or by changing something somewhere I'll be thankful.

What I'm trying to do is basically show a list of images from the database and let the user select the ones he/she wants to use. Then pass this list to a database package for processing when the page is submited (being it a value in the form of ie 12:234:212:1 )
