iKernel.exe error while installing JDK

843804Dec 31 2002 — edited Mar 9 2003
I installed the JDK many times on Linux and Windows.
This time I had no luck, I tried installing jdk1.4.0 and jdk1.4.1 many times(more than 5) on my Windows XP Pro SP1 computer (384Mb RAM,1Ghz PIII), but each time I'm having the following message at the end of the installation:
"IKernel.exe-Application error" .The instruction at "an address" referenced memory at "an address".The memory could not be "read".
This is a problem with the Install Shield Program, I tried to everything on the faq of their site but nothing is working.
Note that I can compile java programs but I cannot run them.(javac work but java doesn't).
Can anybody help please,
Thanks,
Carl Antaki
