Ignoring a specific scsi disk with boot

Billy VerreynneNov 16 2018 — edited Nov 19 2018

Ran into an issue - OL7.5 (fresh install from eDelivery ISO) on a server with 2 scsi drives, with the 1st drive broken.

Installer (booting RHEL kernel) ignored 1st scsi drive, and successfully installed on the 2nd. Boot installed UEK kernel and it panics during scsi probing and detection. Boot installed RHEL kernel and it complains about the 1st scsi disk, ignores it, and successfully continues to boot.

I googled on boot params for skipping 1st scsi disk, but found nothing useful. Had to phone a colleague at the data centre, and ask him to pull the broken drive from the server, in order to get UEK to boot.

My question - any suggestions as to boot params to ignore a specific scsi drive (bus address) at boot time?

Thanks.
