Hi Folks,
I have been running Solaris 9 on a Dell 2350 for quite a while but recently had to re-install due to a hard drive failure.
Now every time I re-boot I get the message
ifconfig: plumb: bfe0: no such interface
Moving addresses for failed IPv4 interfaces : (Couldn't move, no alternative interfaces)
This failure then stops the Solaris desktop from starting.
If I use the Command Line Login, rather than starting the desktop, I can run ifconfig from the command line with no problems
ifconfig bfe0 plumb
ifconfig bfe0 10.2.4.60 netmask 255.0.0.0 up
If I then exit the Command Line Login the Desktop starts OK.
As mentioned above I'm running Solaris 9 on a Dell 2350, with a Broadcomm NIC (The bfe driver seemed to be working before the recent re-install of Solaris)
Any Ideas why the NIC doesn't get plumbed during the boot process?
Many thanks & regards
Kevin
