Ifconfig ?

Hey Community!

I am a new girl here, I just start my job on a new company partner of Oracle, and they give me access to this platform!

Im just installing Oracle Linux 7.1 Server, I was used linux a few times before, and I knew a few basic commands.

I complete the installation just to try, following the wizard it was on a graphic mode, but when it reboot it appears in text mode no GUI!, I guess is because is a server edition, Ok but is not the problem here, when I log in like a root user, I try to run <ifconfig> command but it said: "Command not found"

I read the installation guide, and said that command change for <ip> command, but it doesnt work either, i read some threads here and talk about change the path /sbin/ifconfig, but guess what! I have not that file in that folder, if i make a <whereis ifconfig> dont return anything. for that reason I came here to find some help because that threads was since 2009.

Thank you for your help!

Luisa
