If all I have is a Windows NT Backup data file (containing entire server..)

..can I get the Oracle instance therein going again?

I have an NT Backup file set which includes (among other things like.. the entire hard drive) all the data and configuration files for an Oracle instance (2 instances actually, but I only care about one of them), is it possible to get a working Oracle instance out of this?

I have:
[.] [..] CONTROL01.CTL CONTROL02.CTL CONTROL03.CTL
DRSYS01.DBF EXAMPLE01.DBF INDX01.DBF ODM01.DBF REDO01.LOG
REDO02.LOG REDO03.LOG SYSTEM01.DBF TEMP01.DBF TOOLS01.DBF
UNDOTBS01.DBF USERS01.DBF XDB01.DBF

I found another computer, spare, with lots of disk space. I installed Oracle9i server on it again, fresh install to the same locations as the dead server had (Ora92Home=D:\oracle\ora92), created a database with the same instance name etc as the one I wanted to restore, then used a difference tool to overwrite every file in the current, with one from the backup, if they were different.

Somewhat naive/vain hope that this would be all that was needed to restart the oracle instance and have it take up where the dead server left off.. It seems that Oracle is not SQLServer ;) and the procedure is a little more complex.
Reading around various guides and bits of info, I've gotten as far as using orapwd to replace the password file, because I was getting "Invalid Password File" errors. I can startup mount, but attempting to alter database open gives:

ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST01\SYSTEM01.DBF'

attempting recover datafile 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST01\SYSTEM01.DBF'; gives:

RMAN-03002: failure of recover command at 12/11/2008 19:35:20
RMAN-06054: media recovery requesting unknown log: thread 1 scn 694193694

I'm not quite sure what to do with this. It's not imperative that the database be restored as was; I'm actually only really interested in the contents of one or two tables..

Cheers for any advice that comes along!
