IDPROM problems at boot

Hi,
I have already installed a Solaris 7 11/99 over a SparcStation2 with 64Mb
RAM and 2Gb Hard Disk, but I have always the same problen, when i boot the
station appear a message like this "IDPROM data not valid" and the MAC
address appear like ff-ff-ff-ff and the hostid like ffffffff. The system
finally boots but with the same messages always. Could be the internal battery the problem of this?
