IDPROM is invalid

Has anyone ever seen the message, IDPROM is invalid when booting up a Sparc Station 5? The system brings me to the ok prompt but everytime I reset the system the message IDPROM is invalid appears. Also my ethernet card appears to have a mac address of 0.0.0.0.0.0. It appears as though all settings have been completely reased. Is there any way to restore IDPROM settings? Thank you.
