IDprom & installation

Hi,
I'm trying to install Solaris 8 on an Ultra10,
When I try to "boot cdrom" i've got this message:
"IDprom contents are invalid", the setup install a mini-root on the harddrive, but when the sparc reboot on the disk, there's a dump printing on the screen and it reboot ...
I've got an older version of solaris, which seems to work (no mini-root installed and a gui installation).
the solaris 8 version was downloaded and the older is an original.
The idprom contents seem to be fine: correct mac@ and hostid
