IDE for beginners, Netbeans or Eclipse??

Which IDE is better for a beginner like myself in terms of helping out w/errors, fixing them, and ease of use? I don't really care about any advanced features, learning how to use java. Or is there something else that's better than Netbeans or Eclipse, that's free? Thanks
