Icon Storage

354153Oct 21 2002
Been away about a year and have re-installed Oracle PE & Developer. Now I want to put into my work folder the forms I designed when I quit working the first time. Aside from a few MMX, FMX, and FMB files there are a great many .ico files - all in one directory. I was even dumber then, so I would up with a navigational mess with whcih to contend whenever I wanted to play with an fmb file, for example. In my new structure I want to put all incons into an ICONs folder in the work folder. But I believe to have this work I have to change the registry in Windows Xp Pro to show where the icons will be located. Now, the place where I got the info said to add the directory path (for WORK\ICONS) in the variable for ICO60 under LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE but I don't have such a registry entry. I DO have a ui60 key pointing to A Tools\common60 module that contains .res; .pal; .msb; and .ali files. So I don't know if the is the key to which I should be looking.

Question 1: How do I make Forms look into the right directory to retrieve my icons so I can unclutter my work folder?

Question 2: If a WIN XP Pro registry entry needs to be changed precisely how do I do that? I know XP Pro has 32 bit and 64 bit registries and I don't want to screw things up any more than necessary.

Thank You,
Mitch
