ias_admin password scope

athompson88Mar 25 2009 — edited Mar 26 2009
I joined my company a couple months ago as a DBA and they tasked me with taking ownership of the Portal environment (10.1.2) since no one here is really an export on it. I cannot access the EM App Console on the production server because no one has the passwords. I've found numerous ways references on how to reset this password, such as the one found here but I've never been able to determine the scope of resetting this password. By default, is this password strictly used by the Admin Console and other OAS administrative tools?

Obviously there might be custom code using this password somewhere in our enterprise (though I hope not), but excluding that, will resetting this password via accepted methods have wider reaching implications for any of the OAS pieces?

Thanks!
