I need a workaround for a timer in forms

Hi - I know that Oracle does not support timers and I am in desperate need for the use of a timer - can some give me a good workaround for a timer - all I need to the timer to do is to run a proc in my form every 30 seconds ( whatever interval of time is passed in)
PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!
