"Subquery factoring (the WITH clause) was introduced in 9i (9.2 IIRC). 
Earlier versions of client-side software may not handle it. You would probably also encounter prroblems with 
TIMESTAMP and INTERVAL datatypes, e.g. try
select systimestamp from dual;I work from & report 6i and database 10g Express Edition.

i run: select systimestamp from dual
but error: ORA-03115: unsupported network datatype or representation


why?
