Hello,
My name is Amber and I wanted to reach out to this community since it's so active. I recently learned of an Applications Programmer position that's available and we need to find someone who is heavily involved in Apex.
The problem is, I don't know a lot about Apex aside from the research I have done online (I know it can be a bit of a niche and not everyone uses it, but the people who do usually appreciate its value greately). I know what it stands for and what it's used for in a broad sense, but that's just basics.
What should I be providing in terms of information for this role? What would you want to know about the opportunity save the basics (I do know details of the project, project length - which essentially is a contract renewed once a year with no known end. The last person was there 6 years), pay, location (we have a few choices), etc. - all the basics. I took some pretty good notes from the call with the team, but I'd like to get a feel for what people who are truly enriched in Apex would want to know.
I would also welcome any help you guys could provide in terms of how I might go about finding someone. I don't want just a skills match - I want a personality match. I know some of the soft skills they're looking for and I want to really talk with someone about the role. I don't like just sending over a resume... it's not how I do things.
I hope you guys can help me learn a bit more about what I should be looking for and who I might want to reach out to. I thought this might be a good place to start. If not, I do apologize.
Thank you,
Amber Richard
