I get no display when I install Solaris 10 x86

I am trying to install Solaris 10 x86 on a Lenovo 8212-KUA Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz

The install seems successful, but when it completes and reboots the GUI login
screen never comes up. I first tried using an IBM 6736-HC9 monitor

Then I tried using a Sun monitor model CM751U, but had the same result. It
boots up and in graphical mode tells me to wait for the login in screen to come up, but all I get is a purple bar at the top of my screen.

I am new at this, so there may be some obvious things I am missing. Any
help would be appreciated
