I cannot get "Automatically Reload Externally Modified Files" to work

Hi there,

SQL Developer Datamodeler V4.1.5 build 907 Windows 10 Home 32 bit.

I cannot get the "Automatically Reload Externally Modified Files" feature to work. The steps I am doing are as follows:

1) Create a new design.

2) Add an object. I added a business information contact.

3) Save the design, but do not close or exit datamodeler.

4) Open up another instance of datamodeler.

5) Open the model saved in step 3.

6) Modify the object created in step 2. eg change the contact name

7) Save the design in the second datamodeler instance.

If the "Silently Reload When File Is Unmodified" option is checked, then I am expecting the contact name to be automatically updated in the first datamodeler instance. If the "Silently Reload..." option is unchecked I am expecting a "Reload files" confirmation dialog box to pop up in the first datamodoler instance. I have tried doing the same sort of thing on a text file using Notepad++, and seems to work OK i.e. Notepad++ displays a message to say the file has been modified and asking whether it should be reloaded.

Also should the "Silently Reload When File Is Unmodified" option actually be "Silently Reload When File Is Modified"? Or in other words, why reload files when they have not been modified?

Thanks in advance.

John.
