Hi,
I have an EPM install with Planning 11.1.2.4 and everything works (can use Planning, workspace etc.), if I ran the validation I have everything "green" and each test is successful.
Now I would like to connect OBIEE 11.1.1.9 to this Planning to try the new Planning data source and OBIEE use a special connection URL: adm:thin:com.hyperion.ap.hsp.HspAdmDriver:<host>:<port>:<application> .
So I enter the IP address of my Planning server (192.168.56.103), the port where I access workspace (everything is deployed in the same place, port 9000, because it's a test system only) and the app name of my "sample" Planning app, Vision.
All I get as a result is: "Unable to open connection to 192.168.56.103, Connection refused".
My OBIEE and Planning both run in 2 independent VM on the same virtual network (192.168.56.x), both system can ping each other and see the open ports (for the Planning system I see 9000 open and waiting for connection).
As it's a new feature released 10 days ago there is not a lot (nothing at all) of documentation about this connection, and it looks like in 11.1.2.4 ADM "disappeared" (for HFM in earlier version is was something to install with a checkbox, now it's not there anymore) in 11.1.2.4 and so I hope it's installed by default.
Any idea on how to test if the ADM driver for Planning is working on my EPM install? Is it something to enable or run by hand? (didn't find a deployment called ADM, just a library with that name and it's deployed on the managed server on port 9000, so I think this one must be the port to use to connect).
Of course I can't exclude the issue is a missing configuration on the OBIEE server (for HFM up to 11.1.2.3 to use the ADM driver there was a config to do installing the ADM driver on the BI server, as in 11.1.2.4 there is nothing called ADM in the installer I don't see what I would have to install on the BI server, the ADM driver .jar are part of the OBIEE install already), but I would like to check both sides to make sure I will find how to link these 2 systems.
Both OS are OEL, 6.6 for EPM, 6.5 for OBIEE, everything running on VirtualBox images.
