Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.3 vs Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4

Hi There,

I am stuck in choosing the right Hyperion Planning version for our organisation and I am looking for your help/suggestions.

    1. Our corporate policy is to use SQL Server 2012 database for the ongoing and new projects unless there is a compelling reasons to go for older SQL Server database versions. When I checked the oracle hyperion epm certification matrix, it is quite clear that I do not have a choice but to go for Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4 version. Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.3 is supported on older version i.e. SQL Server 2008 R2.
    2. A bit more investigations revealed that 11.1.2.4 has fixed few key end user defects. Some of the defects listed in the below link, on the face of it, seems pretty basic functionality and blockers for end user adoption. e.g. defects related to smart view. I am not sure how serious are these issues and I have not explored any workarounds/patches available to these basic functionality defects who are on 11.1.2.3.x versions. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E61380_01/epm.11124/readme/essbase_11124000_readme.htmlhttp://docs.oracle.com/cd/E61380_01/epm.11124/readme/essbase_11124000_readme.html
    3. Another corporate policy we have here is to be on the latest (at a min n - 1) oracle versions.

Based on the above three inputs, its clear to me that we should go for 11.1.2.4 version. But our development partner who are experts in Hyperion Planning implementations have recommended to go for 11.1.2.3.500 or 11.1.2.3.700 as these versions are more stable than 11.1.2.4 version. I do not have any facts supporting this recommendation and I am totally confused now.

I thought of reaching out to this community to check your experiences with these versions and any recommendations you may have.

Many thanks for your help.

Cheers,
