Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 & Varying Attributes using

Could somebody help me to resolve my failure to fully undestand?

It's clear that Varying Attributes can be used in Essbase v. 11.1.1.3. But can I use it in Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 application, given it have been created directly in Planning's cube at Essbase? Is it applicable in general? If yes, is there some practice of using this?
