Human Task: How to automatically claim a task for a user via a BPEL process

I have created a new task, and have figured out to how assign to either a user or a group dynamically, all cool. What I would like to do is create the task, assign it to a group, and automatically claim it for a user so the user doesn't have to log in to the worklist app and claim it before having to perform an action on it.
This is all being done from within a BPEL so no Java API stuff in use, I've played around with setting various settings on the tasks XSD but fumbling in the dark really. Is what I'm trying to achieve actually possible?
