Huge Updates and rollback issue

Hi,

we have a 10gR2 database ...

we want to update a column named CODSOC to value of 1.. this column exists in all the 877 tables in the database.. so its plain update stmt to update all 877 (update <tabname> set CODSOC=1;) tables...

but some tables are very huge.. for eg..

24470551 records for msk, 9596943 for evl
9300692 for evp, I think it's the 3 biggest tables

when we try to update teh CODSOC columns in above 3 tables .. it gives out of space issues for Rollback segment...

Can you please help in which other ways can this huge updates be done...?
