HTTPS vs. IMAP/S or POP/S

Hi,

Don`t have a problem - just looking for some advice from the readers of this useful forum...

We are currently running IMS 5.2hf1.16 which is available via HTTPS available to the internet.

I was wondering if it was any less (or more) secure to offer POP or/and IMAP over SSL?

Our external user base are asking for methods of accessing their mail other than HTTPS however I`m not sure if I there were some major watch outs if we offer IMAP/S or POP/S.

For what its worth I`m running:

$ imsimta version
iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.16 (built May 14 2003)
libimta.so 5.2 HotFix 1.16 (built 12:32:17, May 14 2003)
