HTTP Header Variable

Adrian PngSep 1 2011 — edited Oct 14 2011
Hi,

Has anyone successfully implemented SSO using the new HTTP Header Variable scheme type?

I need to have Novell Access Manager manage access to APEX (recently upgraded to version 4.1) applications. Application Express Listener is used.

For SSO, I inject the username into authentication headers. The first issue I have is that the default REMOTE_USER is always set to APEX_PUBLIC_USER, so I set a custom header (X-APPUSER) instead and created a new authentication scheme using this variable. After authenticating via NAM, APEX still sees me as APEX_PUBLIC_USER. I checked the headers sent using OWA_UTIL.PRINT_CGI_ENV(). X-APPUSER has my username, but REMOTE_USER is set to APEX_PUBLIC_USER.

Did I miss a step?

Best regards,
Adrian
