HS and Gateways

Always I had worked just with Oracle Database but now I have a new system in MSSQL. The problem is that I need from my oracle database do querys in the MSSQL database. As I said you this is the first time I need to do this work so I am looking for your help. In other words, I need to deploy a new environment that allow the communication between oracle database and MSSQL database.

Version: 11.1.0.7 OS: Suse Enterprise Edition 10

Could you please indicate me some guide to understand and configure the environment that I need?

Could anyone explain me how the gateways work?
