howto defrag tablespace

782694Jul 2 2010 — edited Jul 2 2010
Hi there,

First of all, I'm not a DBA-er, so excuse me if I ask stupid questions or say "weird" things.

That said....here is my problem and I hope someone can point me to the solution.

I have an Oracle 10g database for FlexNet Manager suite. This has an limit of 4GB.
I have 2 Tablespaces. One is called FLEXNET and the other is called FLEXNETREPORTING. Both have autoextend enabled.

My FLEXNETREPORTING tablespace is full. Please see below the details I get from a script on the internet somewhere on a forum:

FILE_NAME TABLESPACE_NAME STA TOTAL MB % Free Aext
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/databases/oracle/FN02.dbf FLEXNETREPORTING AVA 4,331.392 85.48 YES

As you can see, I'm over my 4GB limit, but there is 85.48% free disk space!!

How can I shrink, defrag this tablespace, so that I have enough space again?

Many thanks in advanced.

Kind regards,

Roland
