How would I upgrade with a 11g to 12c RDS migration ?

Greetings Everyone,

I was asked to migrate an Oracle database from a local server to AWS RDS. I had everything figured out then someone said they

want to upgrade to 12c in the process. I can't run upgrade assistant from RDS so how do I do this ?

Install 12c locally and run the upgrade assistant ? That sucks!
