How to write member formula for YTD members?

Hi,

We have tried calculating YTD members by making JAN as a shared member but we thought it's of bad way to do.

Can we write using @SUMRANGE and @SUM functions (But these functions supports in essbase) in hyperion planning 11.1..2.4.

Please do suggest how to write member formula for YTD members in hyperion planning 11.1.2.4
