How to view the data in a Varchar2 column?

3431000Apr 12 2017 — edited Apr 12 2017

Hello,

Could somebody help me with a question?

I am using Sql Developer version 4.1.5. and Oracle 8i version 8.1.7.0.0.

I don’t have much experience with Oracle to be honest but I have managed to look into an Oracle database we use and extract some information I needed.

The problem is that one of the columns in the table is a data column. All of the information in this column shows up as Varchar2 code and is unreadable.

The question I’m asking is how do I get to read the data in this column?

Many thanks.

Paul.
