How to use multipath disk for ASM running on non-global zone

shirishsMay 5 2016 — edited May 5 2016

I have a LUN from netapp storage with multiplying on Solaris 11.3.

I want to assign this multipath disk path to non-global zone as raw device for oracle ASM .

I read somewhere that "The s2 slice of each Solaris disk is the backup slice representing the entire disk.  It cannot or should not be used for ASM."

Experts please assist .

root@solaris-test:~# mpathadm list lu

        /dev/rdsk/c0t60A9800057396D4E614B42555A6C7863d0s2

                Total Path Count: 2

                Operational Path Count: 2

               .....

root@solaris-test:~#  sanlun lun show -p -v

                    ONTAP Path: tmo-pet-sea1afiler-1b:/vol/solaristest/lun4

                                  LUN: 4

                           LUN Size: 100g

        Controller CF State: Cluster Enabled

          Controller Partner: tmo-pet-sea1afiler-1a

                     Host Device: /dev/rdsk/c0t60A9800057396D4E614B42555A6C7863d0s2

                                 Mode: 7

          Multipath Provider: Sun Microsystems

              Multipath Policy: Native

               .....

root@solaris-test:~# echo | format

Searching for disks...done

          /scsi_vhci/disk@g60a9800057396d4e614b42555a6c6c6c
