how to upgrade to new version of openssl

3251904Jun 4 2016 — edited Jun 6 2016

Dear Professionals;

I tried to upgrade from openssl 1.0.1h to 1.0.2h on Solaris 11-2.  I actually compiled it from source and replace the program file, replaced to new file and etc..

Also, I tried to upgrade to apache 2.4.20 which is the latest version.  When I start apache up after installing the latest apache version, I got mod_ssl.so location is wrong or can not find, but mod_ssl.so is exist under module directory.  So I tried to upgrade solaris itself with pkg update --accept, but the openssl version is still 1.0.1p which still has vulnerability.

Mmmm..  it can be an issue of "link" of files of openssl??   PS: 1.0.1t was the same situation...

My question is as follows.

1. How can I upgrade openssl on Solaris 11??  What is the procedure?

2. I just have to wait till oracle provide the latest version of openssl?

Regards,
