This question is for educational purposes only, I just want to learn how to do this.
If I install OL6U4 I get kernel version 2.6.39-400.17.1. If I do a "yum list available kernel*" it shows that version 2.6.39-400.212.1 is the latest. However, if I browse the OL6 UEK Latest repo here:
Index of /repo/OracleLinux/OL6/UEK/latest/x86_64/
I can see that there are other kernels in there, specifically:
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.109.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.109.3.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.109.4.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.109.5.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.109.6.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.17.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.17.2.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.209.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.209.2.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.21.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.21.2.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.210.2.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.211.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.211.2.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.211.3.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.212.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.23.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.24.1.el6uek.x86_64.rpm
If I wanted to update to one of these other kernels, how would I do that with yum? For instance, I tried "yum update kernel-uek-2.6.39-400.211.3" but it said there was no match. Do I have the wrong syntax?
Thank you
