Hello technologists,
I have developed an oracle adf application using JDeveloper 12c with which I have configured the '-Duser.timezone=UTC' at my java options with an intention of capturing the UTC time into the db table.
Also, my application is now deployed onto a standalone weblogic server 12c which is a Linux machine.
This UTC time also involves DST offset time which might keep varying year to year for different regions which will be updated periodically by java version releases in the timezone database maintained at JRE.
So, this update can either be acquired by updating our JDK version as a whole. Another alternate is to update the timezone database alone by using a java supported TimezoneUpdater tool as mentioned in the below url.

And the timezone updater tool can be obtained here
https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/tzupdater-download-513681.html
I am successfully able to update the timezone from previous version to the recent release.
But, my ADF application still is not picking up the updated timezone and thus not the the updated DST offset for few of the regions.
I am seeking your help here in identifying, if I have missed some cchanges or configurations to be done post timezone update or any changes to be done at weblogic console for making the application to pick up the change in timezone.
Can you please advice.
Regards
Santhosh
