413364Jul 26 2005 — edited Jul 28 2005
hi all,
sorry i dont know if this place is the right one to ask my question,
anyway I am trying to install Oracle Application Server Forms and Report Services version 9.0.4 on Redhat EL 4.0 , I' v read ( Note:315832.1 ) in metalink , they sad that: The minimum supported kernel and glibc version are:

kernel-smp-2.6.9-11.EL
kernel-2.6.9-11.EL
glibc-2.3.4-2.9

I entered this command : rpm -q glibc kernel kernel-smp
I got this output:

glibc-2.3.4-2
kernel-2.6.9-5.EL
package kernel-smp is not installed

plz what I have to do? , I am new to Linux , how can I update these packages?
I tried to download the new version and when I tried to install it it said it conflict with the old one, when I tried to remove the old it said there are many packages that depends on it.
plz help me !!!
