How to Suppress Variance Commentary Rows When Variance Is Less Than $50K and Hide Blank Commentary Rows in PowerPoint Export.

Purva RasalOct 7 2025

Hello Oracle Community,

I am working on a Narrative report Package that includes variance commentary for financial data in excel. I would like to achieve the following:

  1. Suppress any commentary rows when the dollar variance is less than $50,000.
  2. In my original Excel Smart View sheet, there is an approach that helps identify when a commentary line should be visible or not, based on the variance value.
  3. I want to adapt this logic so that, when exporting the report to PowerPoint in Oracle Narrative Reporting, entire rows are suppressed if the commentary field is blank (i.e., if no variance comment appears).

Has anyone implemented similar conditional suppression for commentary in Narrative Reporting? What steps or conditional suppression settings would ensure that rows with blank commentary are hidden from PowerPoint exports?
