How to subtract Time from Sysdate

Hello,

I want to subtract time from sysdate and get the sysdate with time.

Example : = (Sysdate with time)03-mar-2002 16:40:55 - 8 (hours). The result should be like :03-mar-2002 08:40:55

How to write a query for this?.
Please let me know as soon as possible.
