How to stop Oracle service at Windows

fredand44Jan 31 2012 — edited Jan 31 2012
Hello!

I got an simple laptop win XP that I uses for a lot of purposes.

I use it some times for Java development with Oracle 10g.

But at lot of time I just use it for surfing.

I have realized that it is pretty slow and my guess is that oracle uses a lot of RAM and CPU.

I wonder if there is some way to easy stop and start the service/s that manage the Oracle 10g.

It would be great if I could set the service to not start at start up and only started manually when I need it.

I found a couple of Oracle-services under services, perhaps this is the way to set these to manuelly but I hope for some better to manage this among the Oracle softwares that came with Oracle 10g.

Best regards
Fredrik
